ShopeePay is giving ePemula applicants an extra RM500 of vouchers.

11/04/2022

When claiming using ShopeePay, ePemula claimants will receive not only the RM150 e-wallet credit, but also an additional RM500 worth of Shopee vouchers.

The vouchers include RM90 in ShopeePay vouchers, RM310 in ShopeeFood vouchers, RM50 in Shopee Mall vouchers, and RM50 in YES SIM and data cards, according to ShopeePay.

The RM150 credit can be used for in-store offline transactions at various merchant partners across Malaysia, while the additional RM500 coupons can be used for both in-store offline and online transactions via the app.

With a growing number of famous brands embracing ShopeePay as a payment option, teenagers can expect significant savings throughout Ramadan and the approaching Hari Raya Aidilfitri festival, according to a statement of ShopeePay today.

Malaysians aged 18 to 20 years old, or full-time students participating in courses equal to a diploma or Malaysian Skills Certificate Level 4 (SKM4) and above at local public and private registered institutions of higher learning, can register for the ePemula programme.

Meanwhile, Alain Yee, the head of ShopeePay Malaysia, believes the scheme will help local retailers and traders generate more economic activity and sales.

As more Malaysians use cashless payment methods, smaller companies such as convenience stores, local cafés, and micro-traders may perceive the necessity to incorporate cashless payment methods as part of their operations to avoid falling behind.

According to Alain Yee, “we are delighted to be given the opportunity to inspire more Malaysian adolescents to embrace being cashless and utilise ShopeePay to experience the ease, security, and benefits that our mobile wallet has to offer through ePemula.”
