The implementation of the measure to require MS SIRIM certification for non-medical masks will be extended to January 1, 2023.
According to a news release from the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP), the implementation of the measure to require MS SIRIM certification for non-medical masks was scheduled to begin on July 4, 2022, but after considering the response from the public, the ministry decided to postpone the implementation until January 1, 2023.
This means that from January 1, 2023, all manufacturers and importers of non-medical masks must apply for MS SIRIM certification, and the MS SIRIM logo must be printed on the box so that consumers can easily see the logo.
In the future, if you see a mask with the SIRIM logo in the market, this means that the mask has been certified by SIRIM.
