Almost 44k children are fully vaccinated
As of yesterday, 44,376 children aged five to eleven years in Malaysia had received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine as part of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme For Children (PICKids).
According to the CovidNow website, a total of 1,353,370 children in the same age range have gotten at least one dose of the vaccine, accounting for 38.1 percent of their population.
A total of 2,855,208 persons, or 91.8 percent, have finished the immunisation and 2,953,452 individuals, or 95 percent, have received the first dose of the vaccine for teenagers aged 12 to 17.
In the adult population, 15,888,368 people, or 67.5 percent of the population, have received the booster shot, whereas 22,955,102 people, or 97.6%, have finished both doses of the immunisation and 23,232,340 people, or 98.8%, have only had one dose.
Yesterday, a total of 25,487 doses of the vaccine were given out, with 2,631 being the first dose, 11,755 being the second dose, and 11,101 being the booster dose, bringing the total number of doses given out under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) to 69,069,817.
Meanwhile, according to the Health Ministry’s GitHub page, a total of 32 Covid-19-related deaths were reported in Malaysia yesterday, with seven deaths each in Johor and Selangor, five in Perak, four in Terengganu, and three each in Kedah and Melaka.
One case each was reported in Negri Sembilan, Kuala Lumpur, and Perlis.
