DuitNow Ecosystem adds a new function, which can request remittance from the other party

The DuitNow ecosystem will now include a new feature, DuitNow Request, after introducing DuitNow Transfer and DuitNow QR.

DuitNow, a feature initiated by Bank Negara Malaysia, is an online transaction service launched via Malaysia’s electronic payment system PayNet. Users of the DuitNow service can send money using their phone number, ID number, or passport number.

DuitNow Request is a new feature that allows you to request money from the other party. If the other party owes you money, you can use the DuitNow Request function to remind them to send money.

The requester can submit a request immediately through an e-wallet or online banking platform, and after sending a DuitNow Request remittance request, the requester will receive a notification. The other party can choose whether to carry out the remittance or reject it after receiving the DuitNow Request request.

Each user can send a maximum of 20 DuitNow Requests per day, with personal users being able to request up to RM50,000 per day and commercial users being able to request up to RM10,000,000 per day.

Currently, only Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad and Standard Chartered Saadiq Berhad participate in the DuitNow Request service, with more banks to follow.

However, the fraudulent group may benefit from the DuitNow Request. The fraudulent gang might use the DuitNow Request feature to ask the victim for money. If the victim approves the remittance negligently, the victim will suffer losses.
