More than two million young people will benefit from the E-Pemula programme.
According to Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, the RM300 million e-Pemula programme will benefit almost two million young people.
e-Pemula is a cashless transaction scheme for youngsters aged 18 to 20, as well as full-time students in higher learning institutions, in which RM150 is credited to their respective e-wallets on a one-time basis.
Tengku Zafrul said today at the virtual ‘My Money & Me’ financial management workshop held in connection with Global Money Week 2022 that Budget 2022 has provided several money and financing options exclusively for youths.
For example, if you are a young entrepreneur, Bank Simpanan Nasional and Agrobank offer a RM150 million Young Entrepreneur Financing Plan.
In addition, according to the finance minister, the government has been paying an RM900 allowance to students undergoing industrial training programmes to alleviate their financial burden since 2019.
The finance minister also used the occasion to emphasise the youths about the necessity of good financial management.
