The BKM aid will be distributed in 4 phases, and the first phase will be distributed from March 28th!
According to a statement issued by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail, the Phase 1 Family Aid in Malaysia (BKM) will be remitted to the beneficiaries through bank accounts starting from March 28 (Monday).
In the statement, BKM recipients who do not have a bank account will be able to collect BKM assistance in cash at nearby BSN banks starting from March 30.
There will be 8.6 million recipients of BKM assistance in Phase 1, including 4 million recipients in the family group, 1.2 million in the senior group, and 3.4 million in singles. Recipients can receive assistance from RM100 to RM300 from March 28.
BKM is divided into 3 groups, namely the family group, the senior group, and the single group. Both the family group and the senior singles group will receive the aid 4 times, that is, in March, June, September, and December respectively. As for single people, you can get the BKM twice, that is, in March and September.
Under the BKM assistance system, families with a monthly income of RM2,500 or below can receive RM1,000 without children, families with 1 or 2 children can receive RM1,500, families with 3 children or more can receive RM2, 000. Families with a monthly income of RM2,501 to RM5,000 can get RM400 without children, RM600 with 1 to 2 children, and RM800 with 3 children or more.
Single fathers, single mothers, widows, or widows who need to support children can receive additional RM500 assistance. As for the senior family group, you can get an additional RM300.
Widowed or single seniors (aged 60 and above) earning up to RM5,000 can receive RM600 assistance. Singles aged 21 and above with a monthly income up to RM2,500 can receive RM350.
