According to a message from Finance Minister on 14th March, i-Lestari, i-Sinar and i-Citra are only temporary withdrawal schemes to help people cope with the impact of the epidemic, so government will not approve further EPF withdrawal schemes.
He pointed out that if government didn’t launched the i-Lestari, i-Sinar and i-Citra withdrawal schemes, the latest EPF dividend payout would have likely been 6.70 per cent instead of 6.10 per cent.
There are 5.3 million EPF members who do not participate in the withdrawal schemes, and it is very unfair for them to have a reduced payout available to them as a result of the withdrawal schemes introduced by the government.
