TNB and PLUS have signed a memorandum of cooperation to build electric vehicle charging stations on North-South Boulevard so that people can charge their electric vehicles while traveling across the state without worrying about charging.
The North-South Boulevard rest stop (R&R) will begin to set up EV charging stations, and solar panels will be placed on top of the building to generate solar power.
The electric vehicle sector is still a blue ocean full of possibilities in China. The government is actively promoting the domestic electric vehicle industry, which means that electric vehicles will be exempt from import duties, excess taxes and road taxes. Various companies in the country are planning to get a share of the EV sector, with TNB, Sim Darby, Shell and others announcing plans to build charging stations.
Shell Oil has also announced that it will set up a charging station at the Shell station in Tangkak Layby to provide convenience to EV users. shell and Porsche Asia Pacific have announced that they will jointly build a High Performance Charging (HPC) network. – HPC) network, which will include 12 charging points at six Shell stations along the North-South Highway. These charging points will be equipped with 180kW DC fast chargers.
Sime Darby will also be working with real estate developers to install the charging points in their projects.
