In a statement issued this morning, Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah revealed that 541 of the 32,800 cases today were imported, involving 503 Malaysians and 38 foreigners.
There were 31,232 Malaysians and 1,027 foreigners involved in the remaining 32,259 local cases.
Dr. Noor Hisham further stated that 380 patients are currently being treated in critical care units (ICUs) across the country, with 165 of them being confirmed to have Covid-19 and the remainder 215 being suspected, probable, or under investigation.
He claims that 231 of them require ventilator support, with 102 of them being Covid-19 positive.
He also stated that 76 individuals died yesterday as a result of the dreadful sickness. Twenty-one of them died before reaching a hospital for treatment.
