Meteorological Department issued a notice on 11th March that Malaysia will enter monsoon alternation period on 14th March. During the change of monsoon, thunderstorms or strong winds will occur in the late afternoon and evening across Malaysia.
West coast & inner area of Peninsular Malaysia, west coast & inner area of Sarawak and west coast of Sabah will all be affected by this monsoon change.
The monsoon season, which runs from March to May, brings wet weather and unstable convective air, resulting in thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in the late afternoon and evening.
