Dr. Noor Hisham claims that after quarantine, no more Covid-19 testing is needed.
Those who test positive for Covid-19 and have completed quarantine do not need to be tested again, according to the Ministry of Health.
Ultra-sensitive diagnostic procedures, such as Real-Time Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR), can detect viral genetic material in respiratory tract samples up to two to three months after infection, according to Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
For example, the time when a virus is shedding its coat. The virus, on the other hand, is no longer capable of reproduction, and the individual is unlikely to be able to propagate the infection.
Individuals who are symptomatic or in a high-risk group who are asymptomatic are advised to utilise RTK-Ag. Because RTK-Ag is a simple, easy, and inexpensive approach that can be performed at the point-of-care, it aids in the identification and control of Covid-19 infection. According to Dr. Noor Hisham, the testing process is rapid, with results available in 20 to 30 minutes.
Patients who test positive through RTK-Ag self-testing must submit their results using MySejahtera, update their health status through the Home Assessment Tool, and undergo isolation as required by the Ministry of Health, according to Dr. Noor Hisham.
Professional RT-PCR and RTK-Ag tests must be performed by laboratories or medical practitioners who must immediately report the results to the Ministry of Health via the Public Health Laboratory Information System (SIMKA).
According to Dr. Noor Hisham, the Ministry of Health recommends that all self or professional RTK Ag tests or RT-PCR be reported to the Ministry of Health via MySejahtera or SIMKA, regardless of whether the results are positive or negative, to help the Ministry of Health get a clearer picture of the infection rate in the community.
