AirAsia will increase its counter check-in fee to RM100 from March 1, with 14 groups and circumstances exempted from paying the counter check-in fee.
AirAsia will increase its counter check-in fee from the current RM20 and RM30 to RM100 in one go, effective 1 March 2022.
The Check in Fee is currently RM20 for domestic flights and RM30 for international flights and will be increased to RM100 across the board from March 1, 2022.
AirAsia’s decision is to encourage passengers to use the mobile app (App) or airport kiosks to check in. Check-in through the AirAsia App or Airport Kiosk will be completely free of charge.
AirAsia lists the categories of passengers who are exempted from paying counter check-in fees, with a total of 14 groups and situations that are exempted from paying counter check-in fees:
1.Guests with limited mobility
2.Passengers traveling with an infant (under 24 months of age)
3.Teenagers (12 to 16 years old) traveling alone
4.Passengers affected by flight schedule changes or cancellations
5.No available airport check-in kiosk or all check-in kiosks are unavailable
6.Passengers who are unable to complete online, mobile or self check-in due to system errors*
7.Passengers who purchased seat upgrades or other additional paid services at the check-in counter
8.BIG Platinum and BIG Black members
9.Frequent flyer (except AirAsia) and Luxury Flatbed passengers
10.Corporate Full Flex (GCP) and Corporate Lite Guest (GCP) (except AirAsia India)
11.Red Carpet passengers
12.Government Reservation Holders
13.Air Marshals on duty
14.Guests who have completed Self Check-In are required to reprint their boarding pass at the check-in counter
