According to the Education Minister, schools will not be closed again!

The Ministry of Education will no longer declare school closures, according to a message provided by Senior Minister of Education Mohd Radzi Md Jidin, and SPM exams would be held as scheduled in early March.

In the last two years, our country’s primary and secondary schools have been subjected to several suspensions. Due to the development of the pandemic, schools have been forced to close, forcing pupils to study at home. In the last two years, students have not been able to attend lessons on a regular basis, which has hampered their learning development.

Due to an increase in coronavirus infections, the education minister has assured parents that schools will not be shuttered again. He noted that the school infection cluster represents only 0.5 percent of the country’s total number of schools and that the majority of the patients have moderate symptoms, thus physical education lessons in schools will continue as usual.

Despite the fact that the number of new cases in a single day in our country has climbed dramatically in recent days, this is not the case in the previous two years. In our country, the epidemic’s vaccination rate has been insufficient for the past two years, and the current vaccination rate has covered most groups, including adolescents and children. In addition, the immunisation programme is being carried out in a systematic manner.

Mohd Radzi Md Jidin urged parents to register their children between the ages of 5 and 11 for vaccinations. According to data as of February 12, 3.8 percent of children aged 5 to 11 had got their first dose of the vaccine, while 89.8 percent of adolescents aged 12 to 17 had completed it.
