Malaysia’s National Recovery Council recommends full opening of the country’s borders as early as March 1, without mandatory quarantine for those entering!
According to a message from the National Recovery Council (NRC) Chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin, the NRC meeting agreed to fully open the country’s borders from March 1 at the earliest, so that those entering the country will not be subject to mandatory quarantine after being tested for coronary diseases.
People entering Malaysia from abroad will be required to be tested for coronary artery disease upon departure and arrival in Malaysia, and will be exempted from quarantine if they test negative. This is only a recommendation of the National Recovery Council and is subject to the final decision of the Prime Minister.
The current entry policy in Malaysia is that those who have completed the booster vaccination only need to be quarantined for 5 days, while those who have completed two doses of vaccination need to be quarantined for 7 days and those who have not received any vaccination need to be quarantined for 10 days.
A number of foreign countries have opened their borders to allow for exemption from quarantine after a negative test.
