To coincide with Lunar New Year, police will conduct nationwide safety operations for 10 consecutive days from Jan. 28 to Feb. 6, 2022.17 People must be patient and obey traffic rules when driving home for the New Year.
Police will focus on six major traffic violations, namely abuse of emergency lanes, cell phone use while driving, two-lane passing, cutting in line, speeding, and disobeying traffic signals.
If you see someone violating traffic rules, you can have a passenger take a photo or video and report it to the police. Once the police verify that a traffic violation has occurred, they will issue a ticket to the vehicle.
This year, New Year’s Eve falls on January 31, which is a Monday. I believe many people will choose to go home from work on Friday, January 28, or drive home on January 29. People are asked to check the condition of their vehicles before they leave and be prepared for traffic jams.
