Hong Leong Bank opens counters for new banknotes now!

21/01/2022

Hong Leong Bank is now opening its counters for people to exchange new and reissued banknotes!

According to a post on Hong Leong Bank’s Facebook page, people can go to their nearest bank counters to exchange for new banknotes from now on. The new banknotes may include re-new banknotes, that is, old banknotes that are still new.

Attention! The number of new banknotes available at Fung Lung Bank counters is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis. If they are all exchanged, you will need to ask at another branch.

Alliance Bank will also open its counters on Saturday, January 22 from 9am to 4pm to exchange new and reissued banknotes. People can also receive a nice red envelope when the counters are open.

In addition to Hong Leong Bank and Allianz Bank, Maybank and CIMB have also announced the details of the new banknotes exchange. People can go to specific ATMs to collect the new banknotes.

Every year before the Lunar New Year, banks will launch new banknotes for people to exchange. Chinese people like to use the new banknotes to wrap red packets during the Lunar New Year to get a good meaning of “new”.
