Severe weather in our country is expected to last until February!
According to the news issued by the director of the Meteorological Agency, the heavy rainfall in our country is expected to last until February. The states of the country are expected to receive continuous heavy rains due to a triple factor, namely the northeast monsoon, low pressure and Typhoon Rai.
The Meteorological Department issued a persistent rainstorm warning for the South Malaysia region and the eastern part of Sabah at noon on Jan. 3. Persistent heavy rainfall will continue in Pahang Rompin and Johor Port Mersing until January 4. The Meteorological Department has issued an Orange Alert for these two areas.
The Meteorological Department has also issued yellow level warnings for Terengganu, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, Malacca, Johor and Sabah. These areas are expected to receive persistent rainfall. The public is urged to be more vigilant.
Every year from November to March is the northeast monsoon season and long-lived rains fall in various parts of the country.
