Health Minister Khairy reveals that those who mix Sinovac and Pfizer vaccines may need an extra dose of vaccine!!

01/01/2022

Health Minister Khairy has revealed that an extra dose of vaccine may be given to people who have received a mix of Sinovac and Pfizer vaccines.

In an online press conference on the morning of January 1, Health Minister Kerry revealed that the Ministry of Health was gathering information and would not rule out the possibility of an additional dose of vaccine for people who received a combination of Sinovac and Pfizer vaccines. But the statement is premature, because many people have not yet received a booster dose of the vaccine.

According to a Reuters report, people who received a combination of Sinovac and Pfizer vaccines had a lower immune response to Omicron. People who received two doses of Sinovac and one dose of Pfizer would produce antibodies similar to those from two doses of the mRNA vaccine.

There are many people in China who received the first and second doses of the Sinovac vaccine and the third dose of the Pfizer booster vaccine. These individuals will not be excluded from receiving an additional dose of the vaccine in the future.

Some foreign countries are already preparing for the fourth dose of the vaccine, and Israel has also started to promote the fourth dose of the vaccine. People in Israel can start the fourth dose of the vaccine at least four months after the third dose, and people of advanced age, frontline health care workers and people with immunodeficiency are eligible for the fourth dose.
