The Ministry of Education announces a one-week delay in the opening of primary and secondary schools!

 

With the outbreak of severe flooding in several states in the country, Education Minister Raziuddin announced via Facebook Live on December 24 that primary and secondary schools will be delayed by one week. The floods have already had a direct and indirect impact on students and teachers alike.

 

Schools in Group A states (Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu) were due to start their third term on January 2, but with the Ministry of Education’s announcement of a one-week delay, this means that the latest start date for these states is January 9, 2022.

 

Schools in Group B (other states), which were to start the third semester on January 3, will also be extended by one week, with the latest start date being January 10, 2022.

 

The Ministry of Education will issue an official announcement later.

 

Group A states: Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu

 

Third semester start date: January 9, 2022

 

 

Group B states: Penang, Perak, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Pahang, Sabah, Sarawak, Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya

Semester 3 Start Date: 10 January 2022
