WhatsApp automatically hides the last time users were online, so strangers or non-contacts can’t know when you were last online!

17/12/2021

Previously, WhatsApp users had to manually set up their own settings to hide their Last Seen from specific users or all users, but recently WhatsApp has started to automatically hide Last Seen for users, so strangers won’t be able to see your Last Seen.

WhatsApp has strengthened the privacy protection for users, WhatsApp will automatically help users to hide their Last Seen time from strangers. As long as the other person is not in your contacts and you have not chatted on WhatsApp, they will not be able to see your last uptime.

Previously, WhatsApp has been introduced to let users manually set whether or not to let other users see their last uptime. If you have manually set your last uptime to be hidden, the latest update to WhatsApp will not affect you in any way.

If you want to manually change the last online time setting, you can open WhatsApp and go to Settings, Account, Privacy, Last Online. You can choose who can see your last online time, or no one can see your last online time.

However, it is important to note that if you choose to hide your last online time from everyone, but you have already chatted with them, they will still know that you are open and using WhatsApp when you are online.
