Boost is one of the most popular e-wallet platforms in our country and recently Boost is actively launching a range of services such as takeaway service Boost Makan and applying for a domestic digital banking license with RHB, etc. Boost’s latest initiative is a partnership with MasterCard.
Boost will launch Boost MasterCard prepaid card in Malaysia and Indonesia, allowing users to use Boost e-wallet service at MasterCard-enabled stores around the world. It is unclear when Boost MasterCard prepaid card will be officially launched.
Boost MasterCard Prepaid Card will be linked to Boost eWallet and then when users swipe their cards with the Boost MasterCard Prepaid Card, they will be charged directly to Boost eWallet. With Boost MasterCard Prepaid Card, users will be able to use Boost through one e-wallet even when they are abroad.
Boost is not the first e-wallet platform to launch a similar prepaid card, as Touch ‘n Go e-wallet also announced a partnership with Visa, GrabPay also launched GrabPay prepaid card in Singapore, and BigPay also has BigPay prepaid card.
