Primary and secondary schools need only 2 more weeks of schooling to take a 3-week end-of-year holiday!
According to the school schedule and holidays released by the Ministry of Education, primary and secondary schools will start their year-end holidays on December 10 and 11, and will start their school year on January 2 and 3, giving them a total of 22 days of year-end holidays.
Primary and secondary schools in Group A states (Kedah, Johor, Kelantan and Terengganu) will be on holiday from December 10 to January 1. Schools in these states will resume classes on January 2 (Sunday).
Primary and secondary schools in Group B states (other states) will be closed from December 11 until January 2. The schools in these states will resume classes on Monday, January 3.
In addition, schools in Group A states will be able to take the Lunar New Year school holiday from January 28, while schools in Group B states will be able to take the Lunar New Year school holiday from January 29. If the school takes an extra day off, students will be able to enjoy 9 days of Lunar New Year holidays in a row.
Group A states: Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu
Group B states: Malacca, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya.
