Ministry of Health approves AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccines as booster shots!

According to the announcement issued by the Ministry of Health, the Drug Control Enforcement Unit (PBKD) has conditionally approved the AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccines as booster shots for people over the age of 18.

If you received your first and second doses of AstraZeneca or Sinovac vaccine, then you can receive a booster of the same brand at the time you receive your booster. For example, if you were previously vaccinated with Sinovac , you can also choose Sinovac as a booster, as can AstraZeneca vaccine recipients.

AstraZeneca vaccine recipients need to have completed 6 months of vaccination before receiving the same booster, while Coxin vaccine recipients can receive the same booster within 3 months to 6 months of completing the vaccination.

The AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccine boosters will be prioritized for distribution to target groups, which will be announced at a later date.

The Ministry of Health previously approved only the Pfizer vaccine as a booster, but many people were afraid to take the risk of mixing vaccines, which resulted in about 40% of the population not attending the booster.
