DNB announced that it has successfully integrated five domestic telecom companies into its 5G network, and will officially launch a commercial 5G network in December.
National Digital Corporation (DNB) is a company under the Ministry of Finance. It is responsible for the construction and holding of domestic 5G network base stations. The 5G network base stations built by DNB will be leased to domestic telecommunications companies to provide 5G network services.
DNB announced on November 10 that it has successfully integrated five telecom companies into its 5G network. The five telecom companies are Celcom Axiata, Digi, Maxis, TM and U Mobile. The remaining 6 telecom companies will integrate 5G networks in the future.
DNB pointed out that a commercial 5G network will be officially launched in December, which will provide a 5G network experience that is 100 times faster than a 4G network, and will provide a 5G network with close to zero latency. DNB previously promised to provide a 5G network with a minimum of 100Mbps.
After Malaysia’s 5G network is launched in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Cyberjaya, it will be gradually extended to the five domestic states next year, namely Penang, Selangor, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak’s densely populated cities. These cities have approximately 36% of the population of Malaysia.
