Notice! Fuzzy or fancy license plate numbers will be fined up to RM3000!
According to information released by the Road Transport Department Malaysia (JPJ), under the Land Transport Act of 1987, any car owner with a license plate number that is vague, fancy or confusing will be fined up from RM300 to RM3000.
License plate numbers that do not meet the standards, such as
- English letters and numbers are too close or broken
- Broken license plates
- Similar numbers and English letters
and etc.
The Road Transport Department Malaysia also posted three photos and pointed out that these license plates did not meet the standards.
- Y4172 letters and numbers are too close, the number 7 does not meet the specification.
- The V letter of VAD4177 was broken and blurred, and the 77 letters did not meet the specification.
- LA1717, letters and numbers are too close, and numbers 1 and 7 do not meet the specification.
