There are four public holidays in November, only one of which is a national public holiday (except Sarawak) and the rest are state specific holidays.
November 4 is the Deepavali holiday, which is observed in all states except Sarawak, while November 5 is the Sultan of Perak’s birthday, which is observed in Perak, and November 11 and 12 is the Sultan of Kelantan’s birthday, which is observed in Kelantan for two consecutive days.
Sultan’s Day is a statutory holiday and therefore regular employees of the state are entitled to holiday, compensatory leave or double pay on the day of Sultan’s Day.
