As the release date gets closer and closer, more and more information has been exposed for Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 and MediaTek Dimensity 2000!
The specifications of these two chips are as follows:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 898: Cast using Samsung 4nm process; equipped with 1x 3.0GHz Cortex-X2 super core, 3 x 2.5GHz large core and 4 x 1.79GHz small core, GPU uses Adreno 730
- MediaTek Dimensity 2000: Casting with TSMC 4nm process; equipped with 1 x 3.0GHz Cortex-X2 super core, 3 x 2.85 GHz large core and 4 x 1.8GHz small core, the GPU uses Mali-G710 MC10
The processor design of these two chips is mostly the same, and both are cast using a 4nm process. At the same time, the large and small cores of MediaTek Dimensity 2000 are slightly higher in operating frequency than Qualcomm Snapdragon 898, but this also means that Dimensity 2000 processors will consume more power.
However, it is worth mentioning that Dimensity 2000 uses TSMC’s 4nm process, while Snapdragon 898 uses Samsung’s 4nm process. Earlier, Samsung’s 4nm process was slightly overturned on Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. I wonder if Snapdragon 898 will face similar problems?
It seems that this will be a battle between TSMC and Samsung in the 4nm process, and will determine who has a more mature 4nm process!
