According to comprehensive media reports, a suspected electric shock accident occurred in Puyang, Henan Province recently. A 12-year-old boy was taking a shower at home, and his family broke in because they noticed that the boy had not come out for a long time. They found that the boy was lying on the floor and had already lost consciousness. Even the back was burnt black, and the family thought that there was something wrong with the electric water heater, which caused electric leakage and cause the accident. The case has been transferred to the local police for investigation.
The boy’s grandfather said that the accident happened on August 15th: “The child didn’t come back after taking a shower for a long time, so we went to see him.” When we saw the child lying on the ground, the child was getting electric shock. “the water from the heater ran directly on him, and he lay still, burning a large piece on his back”.
The water heater was only installed 20 days ago, and the family did not make any changes at all.
Grandpa also said that when he saved the child, he also felt electric shock: “I felt numb when I pulled the child. Only after turning off the water can the boy be saved. The water from the water heater has electricity.”
In this regard, the water heater company shirked its responsibility after the accident, saying that no electric leakage was detected at the site. As for the death of a child, a third party is still needed to detect it. In addition to the cost of detection, 80,000 yuan (about RM 50,000) will be paid for relief based on the principle of humanity, and then, if there is any legal responsibility, it will cooperate.
