The latest news! License and road tax renewal exemption extended until December 31!

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong announced the extension of exemptions for renewing the vehicle Road Tax (LKM) and driving licence (LMM) until Dec 31 this year.

The Ministry of Transport has decided to extend the exemption for renewal of road tax and driving licence until December 31, 2021, due to the problems faced by the public in the near future when renewing their driving licence and driving licence using the services of the Road Transport Department of Malaysia。

In conjunction with the decision, the Road Transport Department of Malaysia and the police will not take enforcement action against overdue road tax and driving licences.

In any case, people whose road tax is overdue must ensure that their vehicle has a valid car insurance cover and must produce a copy of their car insurance policy for inspection purposes.

In addition, from Monday, September 6, the Road Transport Department of Malaysia and its strategic partner (Pusat Pemeriksaan Kenderaan Berkomputer) will fully open counter services to the “Walk in” public, but only to those who have already received two doses of vaccine.
Visitors must also ensure that the MySejahtera app displays a low-risk status for coronavirus disease.
