988 celebrates 26th anniversary, listenership exceeds 2.17 million
Malaysian radio station 988 turns 26 years old! At the 26th anniversary party held today, the station announced to guests and media that Gfk 2022 had achieved record listening figures in the first quarter, as well as the launch of new and exciting programming units and content.
The Gfk 2022 Q1 (listeners aged 10+ in West Malaysia) radio listening survey delivered impressive results including the highest weekly listenership of 2.17 million, the highest weekly loyal listeners in Chinese and the number one weekly listenership in Chinese in North Malaysia. Listening rate has increased for 2 consecutive quarters and the market share of Chinese listeners in West Malaysia has increased from 42% to 45%!
Whether it is a tense and exciting story or a romantic and heartwarming drama, 988 Radio Drama has accompanied countless people and spent countless good times. The radio show will be celebrating its 50th anniversary next year, making it the longest running radio show in Malaysia. To welcome the 50th anniversary, the radio show will have a series of new works, and the radio show actors will also have “special assignments” afterwards.
