The British newspaper “Mirror” just covered an old story from 13 years ago. Grandma Cha Sanshun, a 69-year-old woman from Wanju, South Korea, had been successful in passing the 960 times exams for five years at the time. She finally received her driver’s license after passing both a written and a driving exam.
As far as we know, Che Sanshun started taking the written test for a driver’s license in April 2005. She returned to the test every day after her first failure.
Five days a week were dedicated to the field registration exam. She made the decision to slow down and take the exam twice a week after taking it for three years and a total of 780 times. 950th time in a row passing the written test. Grandma only had to take the road test twelve times before she was successful after surviving the terribly written test purgatory. After 960 attempts, she eventually succeeded in passing the exam in May 2010.
In five years, after receiving a driver’s license, the examination fee and additional fees will total around 11,000 pounds. Her story was published on the news page as well, and she is now a well-known grandma in Korea.

She claimed that although having always wanted those who could drive, she did not decide to obtain a license to drive until she was 60 years old. “I have more time now, I want to get a car to drive, so I can take the grandkids to the zoo,” she said, adding that she had been working nonstop from the birth of her child, the children had grown up in the space of a few short years, and her husband had passed away a few years earlier.
