5 things to look for when buying rapid antigen test kits!

The Ministry of Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) has issued 5 things to note when purchasing rapid antigen test kits.

 

According to the Ministry of Trade and Consumer Protection (KPDNHEP), when purchasing rapid antigen test kits, it is important to make sure that the product has been certified by the Ministry of Health’s Medical Devices Agency (MDA). As of November 5, 59 kits have been certified.

 

A wide range of rapid antigen test kits are currently available on e-commerce platforms, but it is recommended that you only buy from trusted vendors, such as reputable pharmacies.

 

Generally, there are 2 types of rapid antigen test kits, i.e. saliva and nasal samples, and saliva only samples. Saliva is for saliva and Nasal Swab is for nasal samples.

 

The price of the rapid antigen test kits varies from brand to brand, with the cheapest kit on the market being Alltest at about RM6.60, Newgene at about RM7.79 and Beright at about RM8.50.

 

5 things to note when buying rapid antigen test kits

1. Buy a product that has been approved by the Medical Devices Authority (MDA) of the Ministry of Health.

2. Buy from a trusted vendor (especially online).

3. The MDA has approved 59 kits for sale.

4. the test method of the kit.

5. The price of the kit is related to the type, brand and country of manufacture.
