Prepaid and postpaid plans are available to Malaysian mobile phone subscribers. Many consumers will choose for Postpaid for the first time because it eliminates the issue of an insufficient balance.
Postpaid, on the other hand, will face several of the difficulties, including the necessity to pay 6% SST, contract restrictions, and so on. The advantages of a prepaid plan are as follows.
1. There is no need to pay SST.
Since the reintroduction of the Sales and Service Tax (SST) in 2018, all prepaid customers have been exempt from paying the 6% service tax, whereas postpaid monthly costs are subject to service tax.
2. There is no contract.
Prepaid mobile phone users do not have to sign a contract. You have the option to change the number. You can also keep your phone number and switch to a different telecommunication company. Unlike postpaid, you’ll almost always be required to sign a 1- or 2-year contract. If you receive poor service, you will be unable to change to another telecommunication company.
3. There’s no need to be concerned about receiving outrageously expensive bills.
A similar problem has occurred for many postpaid users. The bundle selected is plainly stated to be RM78 per month, including a few GB of Internet traffic and Unlimited calls and SMS, but when the bill arrives, it adds a significant amount. Hundreds of thousands of ringgits in fees that are unknown. And with prepaid, even if the money is deducted for no reason, it will just be a few ringgits from the phone account.
4. Internet access at a low cost
Are you still paying RM70 or hundreds of ringgit per month for your postpaid mobile phone plan? Consider signing up with a prepaid plan. Prepaid Internet plans are becoming increasingly affordable. For RM35 per month, Hotlink, Xpax, and U Mobile, for example, all offer unlimited Internet access.
5. Flexibility and a wide range of options
Prepaid customers can make their own decisions based on their own conditions. For example, if they are travelling abroad this month, they will not want as much Internet data and can choose for a low-cost Internet subscription. If you don’t want to use your phone to surf the Internet this month, you can just buy a dime.
