Four wanted criminals from Taiwan moved to Malaysia to set up a fraud call center. Unexpectedly, they were arrested by the police just one or two days after arriving in Malaysia!

In addition, the police also arrested four local men and women during the operation, and the police will further investigate their role in the case.

Datuk Seri Ramli Yusoff, director of the Commercial Crime Investigation Department of the National Police, held a press conference this morning and pointed out that the police raided 2 units in Kuala Lumpur on January 30 and arrested 4 Taiwanese men and 3 local men and 1 woman. , 8 of them are aged 31 to 44 years old.

“The arrested suspect tried to set up a fraudulent call center base in my country, but it was busted by the police before it started operating. During the operation, the police seized 12 mobile phones, 3 passports, 1 document, and seized 2 cars.”

He said that according to intelligence from the Taiwanese police, four Taiwanese men were wanted by the local police for being involved in fraud and organized crime, so the police believed that they had come to Malaysia to set up a base for a fraud call center.

“Through cooperation with the Taiwanese police, our police successfully intercepted a fraud call center. The police have handed over four Taiwanese suspects to the Immigration Bureau for the next step.”

Nanley also said that since the suspect’s plan to set up a fraudulent call center was busted by the police before it even started, the case will be further studied before deciding what provisions to invoke for investigation.
