4 more long weekend holidays left this year!

There are still 4 long weekend holidays left in this year.

A three-day long weekend holiday is created when a public holiday falls on a Friday or a Monday in addition to the weekly rest days of Saturday and Sunday. If a public holiday falls on a Sunday, there will be a make-up holiday on Monday, making it a 3-day long weekend.

The Malaysia day this year falls on Friday, September 16; add Saturday and Sunday to get a 3-day long weekend. Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu can also take advantage of a three-day long weekend since their original weekly holidays fell on Friday and Saturday in those locations.

Prophet Muhammad’s birthday is on October 9, and as that day falls on a Sunday, compensatory leave is granted on October 10 (Monday). Deepavali is celebrated on October 24th, a Monday, making it a three-day holiday weekend. This year, Christmas falls on a Sunday, thus there is a make-up holiday on Monday.

On many roadways, there will be jam over the long weekends. Long weekends are the perfect time for holidays, but you need to be mentally prepared to deal with the issue of snarling traffic.
