3,260 evacuated in Pasir Mas due to morning floods.

At 8 am today, there were still 3,260 flood victims in Pasir Mas, representing 989 families.

All of the flood victims have been evacuated to nine relief centers (PPS) in the district, according to the Social Welfare Department’s (JKM) Info Bencana portal.

They are located at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Gual Periok (153 victims from 41 families), SK Gual To’Deh (792 victims from 258 families), and Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Gual Tinggi (590 victims from 108 families). Three others are at SK Kedai Tanjong (58 victims from 18 families), SK Gual Periok (256 victims from 75 families) and Madrasah Tasek Bakong (82 victims from 23 families).

In response to the escalating flood situation, an additional 320 victims hailing from 119 families have sought refuge at the designated Temporary Evacuation Center (PPS) located at Masjid Mukim Padang Licin. The growing number of evacuees underscores the severity of the situation, prompting concerted efforts to provide essential aid and support.

Simultaneously, the PPS at SK Sri Kiambang is accommodating 345 individuals from 107 families who have been displaced by the floods. These centers play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of the affected residents, offering shelter, sustenance, and medical assistance.
