WhatsApp will launch 3 new features

Three new features are being rolled out by WhatsApp to safeguard user privacy.

In response to a statement from the CEO of social media platform Meta, WhatsApp will be introducing new privacy features that will increase user security.

The “Online” status can be hidden as the first new feature. Other users can see that a user is “online” whenever they open and use WhatsApp. Users of WhatsApp will soon be able to choose who can view their “Online” status.

Additionally, WhatsApp will also include a new function that is to leave any groups secretly. A “XXX has left the group” notification is displayed as always when someone leaves a group. Many people who want to leave the group but are afraid to do so are discouraged by this kind of notification, which appears to be announcing to the world that they are not in the group. WhatsApp plans to offer a feature that will allow users to silently quit a group without sending the group any notification.

A tool to avoid screenshots will be WhatsApp’s third feature. Since a while ago, WhatsApp has allowed users to send messages that can only be viewed once. Once a recipient reads a message marked as “view only once,” it cannot be opened again. WhatsApp will provide a tool to stop screenshots in “view only once” messages in order to safeguard users’ privacy.
