PN17 stands for Practice Note 17/2005, while GN3 stands for Guidance Note 3. Main Market companies that are in financial difficulty or have broken certain rules will be included in PN17, while ACE Market companies that are in financial difficulty or have broken certain rules will be included in GN3.
At present, the Malaysian Stock Exchange has a clear rule that any company that falls foul of certain regulations will be classified as PN17 or GN3.
1. The total equity of the company is less than RM40 million and is less than 25% of the issued share capital of the company.
2. More than 50% of the total assets of the company will be taken over by a person other than the company, or wound up.
3. The auditor has given an adverse opinion or disclaimer of opinion on the accounts of the company.
4. Company is unable to pay its debts.
5. Company has no core business.
