26/12/2021

Many people think that January 1 is a national public holiday in Malaysia, but in fact, January 1 is not a public holiday in some states. These states include Johor, Kedah, Terengganu, Kelantan and Perlis.

January 1 is not a public holiday in Johor, Kedah, Terengganu, Kelantan and Perlis, so some people will still need to work as usual on January 1 (Saturday).

However, it should be noted that January 1, 2022 falls on a Saturday, so those who normally have their weekly holiday on Saturday will lose a day off from work. However, for those who usually have to work on Saturdays, January 1 will be a Saturday off.

If you are in Kuala Lumpur, Labuan, Putrajaya, Malacca, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, then you can enjoy your holiday on January 1.
