15% of Malaysians have varying degrees of chronic kidney disease!
According to the Ministry of Health Malaysia, 15% of the Malaysian population has chronic kidney disease. Since chronic kidney disease is asymptomatic at an early stage, most patients learn of their physical condition only at a critical stage.
Malaysia’s Ministry of Health has released 10 symptoms of kidney disease, including blood in the urine, constant fatigue, swollen feet and no appetite. At present, about 50,000 patients with kidney diseases need treatment in the whole country. Each patient with kidney failure needs an average of RM40,000 kidney washing expenses every year. Many people cannot afford the expenses.
