Do you have a bank card that will expire in the near future, remember to check your bank card!
Whether it is a Credit Card, Debit Card or Prepaid Card, there will be an expiration date and users need to replace the card with a new one before the expiration date, otherwise they will not be able to withdraw, swipe or transfer money.
Do you know how to check the expiration date of your bank card? To find out the expiration date of your card, all you need to do is look at the Valid Thru on the front of your card and you will see a 4-digit number, such as 02/22 or 12/21. 02/22 means the card will expire in February 2022 and 12/21 means the card expires in December 2021.
Debit cards are generally valid for 7 years and can be renewed for free one year before or after the card’s expiration date, while renewal fees may apply at other times. Credit cards are valid for 4 years.
Generally, the bank will notify the user before the expiration date of the card, either by email or by cell phone text message. Some banks will automatically mail new cards to customers, while others will require users to renew their cards themselves.
If you receive a new bank card by mail, then you will need to activate the card before you can start using it. Some banks support activation of new bank cards at Internet Banking, while others require the user to go to an ATM to activate the card. After activating the new bank card, the old one will be automatically deactivated.
Hurry up and check if your bank card is about to expire.
